Blockchain
Teach what a blockchain actually is — hashing, chaining, consensus — by building one, not by talking about currency prices.
Syllabus
| Module | Covers |
|---|---|
| Foundation | What a ledger is, hashing, blocks and chaining |
| Security | Tamper detection, consensus, and why it is hard |
| Cryptocurrency | How a coin uses the chain — and what it does not explain |
| Beyond Cryptocurrency | Supply chain, records, voting, and the capstone ledger |
What your students will be able to do
- Explain what a hash is and why it makes a chain tamper-evident
- Describe how blocks link together and what breaks when one changes
- Explain the problem consensus solves in a distributed ledger
- Compare a public and a permissioned chain
- Name real uses of a ledger beyond cryptocurrency
- Build a working voting ledger as a capstone
Final test and certificate
Students who sit the Blockchain final and score 50% or more receive a completion certificate from BrainBit Infotech Private Limited, carrying a number anyone can check on our certificate verification page.
Questions teachers ask
Is this a cryptocurrency course?
No. Currency is one section of four. The rest is the data structure and the security properties, which is what a syllabus usually asks for.
Do students need to know Python?
The five simulations are Python, but they are short and fully shown on the slides. A class with no Python can still follow the concepts.
Can I use this for a one-day workshop?
Yes. It is about 8 hours, so it fits a long workshop or a short elective.
